My name is Alison Wren, and I help small businesses to make the most of their online marketing.
My on-line marketing journey.
For the first 15 years of my working life I was in IT, firstly as a programmer and then as a project manager working in a variety of organisations from local government to Hewlett Packard. From those early days, I’ve always been more interested in what technology can achieve for business rather than the technology itself.
Then in 2004 I took a big leap, gave up my comfortable salary and started an ecommerce business. That business – The Wedding Crafter – grew from back bedroom startup to employing 5 people until I sold it in Spring 2011.
Unlike many consultants from an agency background, I learned my skills at the coalface (and using my own money!). At the time I sold it The Wedding Crafter appeared in position #1 on Google for a number of important phrases and on page 1 for many more. We also made extensive use of Pay per Click and email marketing.
How I work
My approach to on-line marketing is holistic and pragmatic.
I hesitate to use the word holistic as I don’t do “fluffy marketing” but I do believe that there is no point in taking one area of on-line marketing in isolation – you might be in position one of Google and receiving thousands of website visitors per day, but if they aren’t buying, it’s not working.
I’m very results oriented. If we work together, we’ll be looking to achieve the maximum possible return on your investment – both in terms of money and time.
Paprika Marketing is basically me, plus a number of carefully selected associates who are highly skilled in their field and with whom I work to deliver particular specialisms.
So if you would like to work with someone who has “been there, done that”, understands the challenges of online marketing for small business and really wants to deliver great results for you, please give me a call.
