When I started this blog (two and a half years ago) my intention was to blog weekly for 6 months or so and then switch to fortnightly.
However, when I got to that 6 months stage, I found I really enjoyed the blog writing and I still had plenty to say. So I’ve kept up the weekly articles only missing a few during holidays, at Christmas and when struck down by flu. There are now 128 posts on the blog and they bring a regular stream of visitors to my website.
But recently it’s becoming a struggle.
Partly that’s because Paprika Marketing has grown and I’m busy with client work. Partly because I’m also working on other content, like my webinars. But also, I think I’ve become stale. And it feels like my writing has become stale too.
When “write blog” pops up on my to-do list I’m not enthused and excited – it feels like just another chore and a deadline to be met. My hard drive is getting clogged with articles I’ve started but haven’t published because I’m not happy with them.
So I’ve decided to give myself a break and make that switch to fortnightly blog articles.
And concentrate on making those articles really, really good.
