New Year Resolutions – love them or hate them, the new year is the obvious time to look at your business with fresh eyes and resolve to do even better in the coming months.
Here are some suggestions for your online marketing resolutions for 2013
I will make email marketing a priority.
Keeping in regular touch with people who are interested enough to subscribe to your emails is one of the most cost effective forms of online marketing. If you’re not already doing it, start now.
I will update my blog regularly.
This one could easily become the marketing equivalent of “lose weight”. We all start out with good intentions but it’s so easy for blogging to get pushed to the back burner. But with content playing an ever increasing role in search optimisation, it’s important. So decide a frequency which is realistic and achievable – and stick to it.
I will review my website
for broken links, out of date events, incorrect prices and other mistakes. And update them. I look at loads of websites and this is an incredibly common issue. It’s so easy to overlook these things in the day to day rush of running your business, but it makes you look very unprofessional.
I will understand where my website visitors come from
Take the time to really get to know how Google Analytics works and how you can use it to drive your marketing strategy.
I will use social media to engage not sell
Throw out 95% of those automated tweets saying “buy my stuff” and start having conversations – you’ll start building relationships and actually sell more.
