I’m often asked how I came up with the name Paprika Marketing.
The answer is that it came to me in a flash of inspiration during a night out at a Tapas restaurant (Ambiente Tapas in York – highly recommended).
I’d been trying to think of a good name for my new business for a few weeks, but none of my brainstorming or hours of playing around with ideas had come up with anything. But the moment I thought of Paprika Marketing I just knew it was right.
It’s snappy, memorable, easy to spell and also conveys that passion that I feel about online marketing. The tagline “Hot and Tasty Online Marketing” came to me at the same moment.
I couldn’t wait to get home and buy the domain name – luckily it was available.
I didn’t say anything or test my idea on anyone – not even my husband who was with me in the restaurant. Just did it and asked people what they thought later. Luckily, they liked it too, but even if they hadn’t it wouldn’t have put me off.
Have there been moments in your business when you’ve had a lightbulb moment and just acted immediately? Or times when you’ve had an idea and then spent too long pondering and lost momentum?
Be prepared for your lightbulb moments and grab them – you never know when they will arrive.
