I love networking – since I started Paprika Marketing in September, I’ve been out and about attending breakfast meetings, evening meetings plus informal one to one chats.
I’ve met prospective clients, talked to other professionals about partnerships and received some brilliant advice from other self employed professionals about managing my business.
But there is a downside – nearly every meeting involves food. And I’m in danger of putting back on all the weight I fought so hard to lose this year!
There’s the tempting coffee shop muffins. The little nibbles with evening drinks (6 calories per dry roast peanut apparently). And of course, the biggie – continental or full english breakfast.
When the little naughty voice whispers “you’re paying a tenner – for a bowl of muesli” or “there’s far more calories in a croissant than a sausage” I have to be strong and remind myself that I go for the networking, not the food and that one sausage may not be much but the full breakfast certainly is.
So my challenge for the next few months is to keep saying no to the sausages, fit in those walks I promised I would do and make sure I’m ready for the next big hurdle – the Christmas party season!
